In Remembrance of S. Dan Joensen
This website has been setup as a short memorial to S. Dan Joensen, and a way to communicate to any and all of his family, friends and associates.
S. Dan Joensen passed away in the afternoon of the 16th of January 2008, having suffered a heart attack earlier in the day, from which he never regained consciousness.
Having reached the age of 72 years, and having just returned to Bahrain from a long Christmas vacation with his family in Denmark, his last waking moments were spent doing what he truly cherished in life; sharing his knowledge with others through his work.
We, his family, will miss him in the years to come. And ask that any and all who knew him, send him on his way with a private or public thought or two.

Following his own wishes he was cremated with only a small private family ceremony in Bahrain, on January 22, 2008. His remains have been transported to Denmark for ceremonial burial on Friday, February 1, starting in Skovlunde Church at 1:00 PM. His obituary will be printed in the Gulf Daily News. Anyone wishing to honour him at this moment can take a minute to light a candle on this site, add some memories or write their condolences here on this site. Also he would encourage you to take this opportunity to donate to those less fortunate than he (as he often did) or consider more carefully how we may ourselves contribute less to environmental impact.
